It’s the Little Things That Count.

Keeping your body in motion throughout the day helps harvest the benefits of exercising. So those routine trips to the gym are fabulous for reducing weight gain and for weight maintenance. But adding in little things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or taking advantage of “Bike to Work Day,” you’ll keep your body moving consistently throughout your day. The more movement your body has, the more calories it burns. Consistency is key when it comes to exercising.

 

Exercise Crushes Its Opponents.

Regular exercise helps prevent a slew of diseases and ailments. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes are all managed through regular exercise.

If you’re feeling down or depressed, exercise is there to the rescue. Exercise has been shown to aid in the improvement of mood and reduce anxiety. Getting physical also helps in releasing some of those ‘good vibe’ endorphins (mayoclinic.org). Good vibes bring good moods, and good moods bring a good day.

 

Boost It, Boost It Real Good!

Want to accomplish more? Of course you do! By exercising regularly, you’re boosting your endurance and strengthening your muscles, while also training your cardiovascular system to work more efficiently.

While the inside of your body is being boosted, you’ll notice the difference on the outside. You’ll have more energy to work harder, faster, and just like your cardiovascular system, work more efficiently.

 

Get Your Beauty Sleep.

If the reasons above aren’t convincing enough to get your butt moving, maybe the thought of a good night’s sleep will do the trick.

Being consistent with your exercise and physical activity can help you get those eyes shut faster, and even whisk you away to a deeper sleep. If that doesn’t sound appealing…

If you’re feeling tired, insecure, or just plain unhealthy, chances are your sex life is feeling it too.

Feeling better about the way you look, feeling healthy from the inside out, and having energy, all assist in having a more robust romantic life. As a woman, you may find an enhancement in arousal. Men who exercise more frequently are less likely to have issues with erectile dysfunction.

 

Friends, Fun, and Exercise!

Exercising is fun by itself, but exercising with friends takes your physical activities to another level. A level of fun, that is!

Admit it: Even on a rainy day, going for a run with a friend is fun. If you and your friends aren’t runners, take a Zumba class. If bikes are more your thing, take a ride outside or join others to get your collective hearts pumping in a group cycling class. Whatever physical activity you enjoy doing, there is almost a guarantee it’ll be that much more fun, and motivating with a friend. (Hence, the birth of Bootcamp Groupie!).

 

In A Nutshell…

You’ve learned that exercise boosts your energy, fights diseases, makes you happy, makes you look good, and makes for a more satisfying sex life. There’s really nothing exercise doesn’t contribute to. So why wouldn’t you want to exercise? You don’t have to train for the Olympics, but at least be kind enough to yourself to give your mind, body, and soul the benefits that come with regularly exercising. There has never been a better time than now to put yourself and your health first.
